Press Release: Caregiving app startup Care Monster hires Former TuneWiki Director of Engineering Jared Fleener as CTO

Caregiving application startup company Care Monster, Inc. today announced its first hire after the successful completion of its initial round of seed funding.

Jared Fleener—the former Director of Engineering for the global music lyrics database TuneWiki—has been hired to translate the Care Monster vision of enhanced caregiving experience in to a robust and scalable CareMonster® caregiving application. “I’ll be taking the lead on moving Care Monster forward with content changes, app releases, technical hiring, and looking at how best to leverage existing and trending technology,” said Fleener.

The company’s CareMonster caregiving application for Android and Apple iOS devices helps family caregivers coordinate their schedules, visits, and caregiving tasks among themselves to improve the quality of care they deliver to their loved one, either at home or in a long-term-care setting. Although the app is designed for family members, Care Monster’s business model is built around a subscription-supported, co-branded version of the app that is offered to families by care companies. The app is always free for family members to use.

“I could not be more excited to have Jared joining us,” said Michael Eidsaune, Care Monster’s co-founder and CEO. “I was afraid we would have to go to the Silicon Valley to find a CTO with both the mobile software development and deep startup experience we needed. Fortunately for us, Jared was right here in the Dayton area.” Eidsaune continued, “At TuneWiki, Jared led a global team of developers in four countries and helped scale the platform to over 10 million active users in 70 countries. His experience in growing TuneWiki into a well-funded global startup will be invaluable to our brand and long-term vision for the company.”

Care Monster, Inc. is part of the prestigious Aging2.0 Academy Startup Incubator Program in San Francisco, and recently received the “Design for All” Award presented by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) at the Impact Pediatric Health Competition, part of SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas.
